WELCOME:

We are a small church family with a big heart. With Jesus at the center, we want to be a family that truly loves and brings restoration to each other and reaches out in compassion to our community with special focus on the poor and hurting.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT NEW BEGINNINGS:

A Welcoming Environment: We want to be a safe haven where everyone is loved and accepted as they are, like visiting good friends or family, where there is open communication and ease of fitting in.

Powerful Contemporary Worship: We expect God to visit with His awesome love, presence and power to heal and transform and renew lives each time we meet.

Practical and Relevant: We want you to be equipped with God’s truth and his power for the coming week. We believe that participating in a church family should have a dramatic positive impact on your life.

A place of hope and healing. We expect Jesus to walk among us to heal the brokenhearted and set the captive free, to comfort those who mourn, to give beauty for ashes, joy instead of despair.

A Seriousness about our Purpose: We want to make a difference in our community, not play at church. We encourage and help each other become all that God created us to be and do.

A joy and energy together: We want to be an extended family that works, plays, grows, cries, laughs, and learns together.

BIOGRAPHY:

Ron and Christine are long term residents of Sunnyvale. Ron worked very successfully as an Engineering Manager over most of his career and most recently was in charge of Engineering for Ampro Computers in San Jose. But since his dramatic conversion in 1979, his heart and passion has been on ministering to people, and he has spent the majority of his non-work time in lay ministry. Ron received a call from the Lord to full time ministry in 1986, and was finally released to pursue that call in 1997. He obtained his degree in Church Leadership from Bethany Bible College in 1999 and for four years served at Southbay Christian Center in Mountain View as Associate Pastor for Adult Ministries and Pastoral Care. Working with lay leaders, he grew many new ministries such as Home Groups, Mens' Ministry, Healing Team, and Treasure Ministry (outreach to the poor). From September through December 2002, Ron served as Interim Sr. Pastor for Southbay.

Christine also has been very active in the church and has a passion for helping others. At Southbay she was head Deaconess, led the Children’s musical, sang on the worship team and was part of leadership of Womens' ministry. She is currently head of our worship ministry and prepares dinner for our Saturday night outreach.

They have three Children, Brent, 37, Mark, 35 and Mary 27. Brent at age 7 got viral encephalitis and became completely disabled—paralyzed and spastic. This was a dramatic turning point in the Paulson’s life, in which both Ron and Christine came to the Lord. Because of the dramatic conversion, they remain very grateful for God’s saving grace in their lives. Brent has a good mind but is trapped in a body that does not work. God has miraculously provided 24hr, 7 day a week nursing care at home for Brent for over 30 years. Mark, currently living at home, has a degree in Software Engineering and leads worship for New Beginnings and is a gifted song writer. Mary is a foster daughter who came into their lives when she was orphaned at 12ys old. She is married and has two children and lives in Moline Illinois with her husband Joseph.

Pastor Ron and Christine and their team have a burning passion and vision to bring Jesus love and restoration to the broken and hurting in our Silicon Valley and see God radically transform not only lives but the whole city. Matt 9:36-38 "When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. 38 Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field."
