Restoring Broken Lives: |
"Bringing Jesus Love and Restoration to broken and hurting people." From the very beginning, God has centered us on being a church that restores very broken people to fullness of life and purpose. He has given us a big heart of compassion and an ability to love and embrace those who others reject. |

1. Central Campus--Ministry Hub. "The Refuge" We dream of a place of refuge, restoration and equipping to go out in compassion to bless and restore the city in Jesus name. A central campus with a help center, prayer chapel, fellowship hall for dinners, classrooms, kitchen and housing for those restoring their lives, and for resident interns.
2. Outward Ministries: We envision all kinds of outward ministries both small group and large group each day to all peoples of all ages that are broken and hurting. In every venue--apartment buildings, homes, workplaces, coffee shops, parks, schools, hospitals, jails, shelters. Our Saturday night Outreach and Wednesday Celebrate Recovery are first examples. God has given us a special heart for those without the support of family, father, or husband. The homeless, the addicted, the outcast, the hurting, the hopeless. |

"A citadel, a tower of strength & wisdom. A fortress to bless the city. A place of refuge, restoration, supply, fortification, and equipping to go out. A light that cannot be, will never be shaken. A building whose foundations go deep into bedrock, yet humane and merciful to the least of these. A city of hope and encouragement, acceptance and love, truth and light, healing, a model for others. Many nations, many faiths will come." "Known for:
Isaiah 58:6-14 "Is this not the fast that I have chosen: To loose the bonds of wickedness, To undo the heavy burdens, To let the oppressed go free, And that you break every yoke? Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, And that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out; When you see the naked, that you cover him, And not hide yourself from your own flesh? Then your light shall break forth like the morning, Your healing shall spring forth speedily, And your righteousness shall go before you; The glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard…" |

1. JESUS at Center. To be radically in love with Jesus, and share his heart, his character and his ministry. Full of grace and truth. Filled with his Spirit. 2. FAMILY Together. To be a safe refuge of unconditional love, acceptance, and forgiveness. To be a true extended family of mothers, fathers, sisters, and brothers that shares our lives and passion for Christ together. 3. RESTORE Each Other . To walk alongside each other to be fully healed, transformed and set free by the grace and truth of Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit. To encourage and support each other in our God given giftings, passions and destiny. 4. Reach Out Together in COMPASSION. To touch our community with His tangible love. To establish outposts of His love and restoration throughout our community to all peoples of all ages. |

These principles relate to our five purposes. Every activity in New Beginnings should be filtered by and reflect these principles. 1. HOLY SPIRIT EMPOWERED "Not by might, not by power, but by my Spirit." To have total and utter dependency on the Holy Spirit and believe that the Holy Spirit empowers and gifts everyone for the full work of the ministry. To be filled with, led by, and submitted to the Holy Spirit. 2. OUTWARD FOCUSED To have a passion for the lost and hurting with personal touch and interaction out of a giving heart of love. To meet people where they are and minister to their needs and love them-- versus requiring them to fit into our programs and ways of "doing church". To be a true servant. To be others centered – and see our church as their church. To be willing to embrace messy lives and all that entails for the sake of being alive. "Bringing Jesus love and restoration to the lost and hurting." 3. RELATIONSHIP BASED A safe haven of unconditional love and acceptance and "whosoever will may come." Where each person is accepted no matter what and has full freedom to be who they are. Where people get to know each other deeply and become true family. Where we are always inviting in, including, versus being in comfortable cliques. Where we are vulnerable and reveal our lack of perfection and our warts. Where there is open communication and confession and grace and the focus is on individual people versus programs. 4. COME ALONGSIDE TO RESTORE Each of us coming alongside a few others one-on-one and in small groups to see them become devoted followers of Jesus and restored to fullness of life and purpose. It is process oriented versus event oriented. To assist through stages of salvation, healing, discipleship, and mobilization to ministry. To believe in, persevere and see victory for another. We also learn and grow most by helping and discipling someone else. 5. MOBILIZE IN MINISTRY Multiple teams involved in vital ministry to the lost and hurting. We want to include and involve everyone in ministry immediately. To bring someone alongside, equip and give them responsibility and let them try and allow failure. We primarily learn by doing versus just classroom focus. Doing also gives a strong motivation to learn. |

We believe God is Triune: Father, Son and Holy Spirit (2 Corinthians 13:14). We believe that man was created in the image of God, but that by voluntary disobedience he fell from perfection (Romans 5:12). We believe that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us, signing the pardon of all who believe on Him (John 3:16; Romans 5:8). We believe that we have no righteousness and must come to God pleading the righteousness of Christ (Ephesians 2:8). We believe that upon sincere repentance, and a whole-hearted acceptance of Christ, we are justified before God (I John 1:9). We believe that the change which takes place in the heart and life at conversion is a very real one (2 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 2:20). We believe that it is the will of God that we be sanctified daily, growing constantly in the faith (Hebrews 6:1). We believe that baptism by immersion is an outward sign of an inward work (Matt. 28:19). We believe in the commemoration of the Lord's Supper by the symbolic use of the bread and juice of the vine (I Corinthians 11:24, 25). We believe that the Baptism with the Holy Spirit is to endue the believer with power; and that His incoming is after the same manner as in Bible days (Acts 2:4). We believe that it is the will of God that we walk in the Spirit daily (Ephesians 4:30-32). We believe that the Holy Spirit has gifts to bestow upon the Christian; and that we should show spiritual fruit as evidence of a Spirit-filled life (I Corinthians 12:1-11; Galatians 5:22). We believe that the experience and daily walk of the believer should never lead him into extremes of fanaticism (Philippians 4:5). We believe that divine healing is the power of Christ to heal the physically sick in answer to the prayer of faith (James 5:14-16). We believe that the second coming of Christ is personal and imminent (I Thessalonians 4:16, 17). We believe it is our sacred duty to identify ourselves with the visible Body of Christ (Acts 16:5; Hebrews 10:25). We believe that rulers should be upheld at all times except in things opposed to the will of God (Romans 13:1-5). We believe that all shall stand some day before the judgement seat of God, and there receive eternal life or death (2 Corinthians 5:10). We believe that Heaven is the glorious eternal home of born-again believers (John 14:1-3; Revelation 7:15-17). We believe that hell is the place of eternal torment for all who reject Christ as the Savior (Revelation 20:10,15). We believe that soul winning is the most important responsibility of the Church (James 5:20). We believe that the method ordained of God for the support and spread of His cause is by giving of tithes and free-will offerings (Malachi 3:10; 2 Corinthians 9:7). |

Why do we belong to the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel? First and foremost, we believe God has strongly led us to join with our Foursquare brothers. Secondly, we strongly believe Pastors and Churches should have guidance and accountability. We have a local Southbay District which is on fire for bringing Jesus to this bay area. They are actively helping us plant this new church, giving us guidance, financial support and accountability. Thirdly, the beliefs of the Foursquare Family are very much our beliefs of a full gospel of Jesus Savior, baptizer with the Holy Spirit, healer and restorer, and soon coming King. Fourthly, Foursquare is dedicated to planting churches to spread the gospel and is interdenominational in working together with the body of Christ to complete the great commission. Why do we call ourselves "foursquare?" by Jack Hayford, D.D. and Daniel Brown, Ph. D."Foursquare is a forthright, up front gospel message. Foursquare
is a pattern of life that is committed to a Person, and His name is Jesus
Christ, the Son of God. So, let's talk about the term "Foursquare." First, there
is a symbolism in the term. The symbolism bears on a message that was being
preached by Aimee Semple McPherson, founder of the Foursquare Organization, in
1922 in Oakland, California, from the book of Ezekiel. Firstly, Jesus Christ is the Savior. He is the only way of salvation. In the face of the man Ms. McPherson saw, "Him who came - the Word made flesh - and dwelt among us, the Son of man; the One who came to bear our sins, to die for us." He took upon Himself the sins of the world, so we could be restored in our relationship with God. When we talk about Jesus as the Savior, it means that the Lord Jesus not only brings us into right relationship with God, but His ministry is working salvation, life and power toward us continuously. He is our Savior in an ongoing, continual, delivering way. Secondly, Jesus is the Baptizer with the Holy Spirit. He is the source of everything that has to do with the ministry of the Holy Spirit. In the face of the lion, Sister McPherson saw The King of beasts, the mighty Lion; the One who is the mighty "Lion of the tribe of Judah" (Rev. 5:5). He is the One who gives the initial experience and who will constantly cause the flow of the Holy Spirit to infill us on a continuous basis. This brings an expanding and extending revelation of the ministry of the Spirit of God in us, as well as a flow of spiritual fruit and gifts from us. When we speak of Jesus as the Baptizer, we are not just talking about a onetime experience. Thirdly, Jesus is the Healer. He is in the miracle-working business today (because He is a changeless Lord). Sister McPherson saw in the face of the ox, the Burden Bearer, the creature who bears not only our sins and iniquities, but also our pains and sicknesses (Isaiah 53:4, 5). He is committed to completion and wholeness in every part of our lives. The healing ministry of Jesus brings wholeness to families, to marriages, to personalities, to minds and to bodies. He's a miracle-working Lord - which is why we anoint people with oil in the Name of the Lord and lay hands on the sick. Fourthly, Jesus is the Coming King. He is coming again to the earth to snatch away His Church to be with Him as His bride forever. Sister McPherson saw in the face of the eagle, sweeping down suddenly without warning, He who is coming again as promised: "If I go... I will come again, and receive you to myself..." As King He will exercise complete dominion on the earth. Every knee will eventually bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord of lords, the King of kings. Maranatha, come quickly Jesus!"
